Starting
on the outside of the front row, Nic Faas of Huntington
Beach, California led all twenty-five laps to claim the
opening feature of the 16th Annual Budweiser Oval
Nationals. The non-stop main event was the third straight
Amsoil USAC/CRA triumph for Faas at Don Kazarians Perris
Auto Speedway and the first USAC National Sprint Car victory

After scoring his first Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car feature win of the year on September 24th, Nic Faas of Huntington Beach returned to victory circle last Saturday night. The 2008 Rookie of the Year took the lead from "Super" Rickie Gaunt on lap fifteen and led the rest of the way to claim the "Southern California Fair Race" at Don Kazarian's Perris Auto Speedway. Gaunt finished second, with point leader Mike Spencer, "The Ripper" Rip Williams, and Greg Bragg rounding out the top five

- NIC FAAS WINS USAC-CRA SPRINT FEATURE AT PERRIS
PERRIS, Calif., Oct. 8
Nik Faas dominated the AMS/Oil USAC-CRA sprint car event Saturday aboard Mark Alexander's No. 4 Chevy and recorded his second consecutive victory in the series at the half-mile Perris Auto Speedway. A large crowd in the main grandstand watched the racing attraction during the annual Southern California Fair (October 8-16) with carnival rides, games of chance, product vendor booths, and food aromas surrounding the event. The split level racing program ran warmup and hot laps, qualifying and four ten-lap heat races from 1:00 to almost 3:00 pm on a sunny afternoon with temps in the high 70s. A three hour intermission followed and allowed racing spectators to visit fair attractions as the track crew re-prepared the clay surface for the B and A mains that
